Dr. Matson graduated from Washington State University in 1985. Initially, he was going to pursue the James Herriot route and started his career in a mixed animal practice. However, he found his passion was with dogs and cats. Dr Matson bought a practice in Woodinville, WA in 1994, practiced general medicine, and eventually became a board-certified veterinary dentist. At the beginning of COVID, Dr. Matson retired from practice. Although spending quality time with his 2 cats and dog was relaxing, he missed the interaction with clients and the challenge of diagnosing and helping the pet population. In 2022 Dr Matson joined a veterinary practice and worked there for 1 ½ years. When the opportunity arose to bring his experience and passion to Felix&Fido, he decided this was where he wanted to be. Dr. Matson is excited to join the Felix&Fido team with the opportunities it offers to bring excellent veterinary care to the clients and pets in the Eastside area.

Outside of the hospital, Dr Matson walks his two Alaskan Malamute dogs on a regular basis as well as spends quality time with his two cats. He has a passion for classic cars and has been restoring and driving a 1966 Mustang since 2007. He is excited to continue to practice veterinary medicine as a member of the Felix&Fido family.
